When I worked in software sales at Citrix Systems in 2012-2014, I was exposed to a platform called Ariba. Ariba is a “commerce network”.
Say the Royal Family of Scotland is about to celebrate the arrival of Prince Habib and needs 40,000 forks. They would submit a form describing their request into Ariba. This example is inspired by the actual posts I saw. All the utensil companies would then submit proposals describing why they have the best forks for the job.
Exposure to commerce networks, like Ariba was part of my “awakening” into capital flows.
